The hum of travel in the TARDIS ceases abruptly as the ship materializes at its destination.
The Doctor heads over to Padme's suite and knocks on the door.

Date: 2006-01-16 12:24 am (UTC)She leans into the Doctor a bit pulling her hand away from her lightsaber. It wasn't like the guards could get to them anyways due to a Force wall in their way not that they could see it but Padme knew it was there.

Date: 2006-01-16 12:44 am (UTC)"Certainly!" the Doctor agrees, reaching slowing into his inside jacket pocket and pulling out what looks to be a small wallet. He flips it open and steps closer to show it to the guard. "There you are."
The guard looks it a moment, then visibly relaxes, waving a hand to the others, who also stand down. "Okay, but look, I don't know who sent you up here, but we don't bring the screens down while there are patrons. They don't want to see that! That's why they're here. Just... get it working again fast."
The guards scowl at the Doctor and Padme, but turn and head back to their posts.

"Now what?"

Date: 2006-01-16 02:17 am (UTC)"What? That wasn't easy?" He flashes her the little wallet, which contains nothing but a blank white piece of paper.
Then, he slips it back in his jacket and goes back to the control box. A few quick adjustments, and the idyllic park landscape reappears, without the telltale flicker in the corner.
"Now, we find out what happened here."

Date: 2006-01-16 02:31 am (UTC)"There"
Yep, she's pointing off in an opposite direction than what they're standing.

Date: 2006-01-16 03:09 am (UTC)The sky abruptly stops as they leave, and it becomes apparent that they are inside a massive domed structure enclosing the entire city.
"This is wrong. This is very, very wrong."

Date: 2006-01-16 03:12 am (UTC)"Well, first time for everything I suppose."
Then she looks at the Doctor. "Well, darling Doctor, I'm not them."
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 03:20 am (UTC)He looks up and down the walkway.
"We need to find a library or archive or something."
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 03:24 am (UTC)She walks in front of him and takes his hand before leading him away from where they'd just entered and finds a door and opens it. Well... they'd get to find out what the room was.

Date: 2006-01-16 03:43 am (UTC)The Doctor looks at Padme. "You're a little scary."
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 03:45 am (UTC)"Why do you say that?"

Date: 2006-01-16 04:04 am (UTC)She looks up at him pleasantly enough. "All such records are restricted, sir. I'll need your authorization code," she says in a tone that strongly suggests she doesn't believe he has one.
"Of course you will. Padme, love, give this nice young lady our authorization code."
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 04:12 am (UTC)She simply waves her hand in the woman's plain view and puts a Force command to her words. "You've seen our authorization code and will allow us access to the restricted material."
The woman behind the desk simply looks at them. "I've seen your authorization code." Then she gives them both a smile. "You now have access to the restricted material." The woman gets up momentarily to guide them to the restricted material before going back to her seat and leaving the two be.

Date: 2006-01-16 04:17 am (UTC)"Incredible," he says to her in hushed tones as the librarian leaves them in the restricted room.

Date: 2006-01-16 04:20 am (UTC)"Force commands normally work on the weak minded though. So if someone's mind were stronger, say like Obi-Wan's, then I wouldn't of been able to do that."
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 04:30 am (UTC)For now, though, the Doctor sits at the small computer terminal in the room and starts his search. It turns up three likely archive disks.
"I need 27-Delta, 13-Beta, and 61-Gamma," he calls out.
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 04:34 am (UTC)Then she goes through the archives finding the three disks that are needed and sits them down beside of him.
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 04:48 am (UTC)He loads one of the archival disks and starts scanning through the information contained.
"There's got to be an explanation," he mumbles to himself.
no subject
Date: 2006-01-16 04:51 am (UTC)"I doubt Obi-Wan would let you keep me."
