At a locked door, Cassandra looks back down at Rose to see what to do next. Rose suggests the sonic screwdriver, which, naturally, Cassandra has no idea how to use. So, at Rose's suggestion, she crosses the gap back into the "chavtastic" one.
Back in control of his faculties, the Doctor is able to hold his knowledge hostage. As long as Cassandra is in Rose, the Doctor won't help, and as long as Cassandra is in him, he can't help.
After going back and forth a couple of times, Cassandra relents and passes Rose by in favor of one of the plague carriers climbing toward them.
"Oh, sweet Lord... I look disgusting!" comes a voice from below them, just as the Doctor sonics open the door and pulls Rose through behind him.
